i don't really consider them desserts, since these little suckers are about 3 bites each and i can eat them like potato chips. some small group girls introduced me to macarons and now i'm addicted. luckily, bouchon bakery in columbus circle (about 8 blocks from work) has very good macarons, a perfect lunch time trip to make up for a crappy work day. macaron cafe near herald square also has very good macarons. unfortunately, they're a little pricey ($2.75 for one at bouchon, six for $11 at macaron cafe) but they're so good. i may or may not have gone once or twice to get a pack of six during lunch and finished them by the end of the day...shhh...don't tell anyone :).
i wish i had known about these little slices of heaven when i was in paris a few years ago. i guess now i'll just have to take a vacation to paris soon...
anyway, if you've never had a macaron, please try one. and if you don't like it, feel free to donate the leftovers to me.
