i never got into the sex in the city tv series. partly because i just didn't enjoy the general topic of conversations, and also because sarah jessica parker kind of freaks me out. so naturally, i didn't go stand in line like every other female in new york when the movie came out.
i finally rented the movie just to see what the fuss was all about. and honestly, i can see what had drawn so many women to the series. underneath the sex, the relationships, the shopping and general societal drama lies a bond that all women want. these women would stop at nothing to be there for each other, putting their own lives aside to support their friends in times of joy and sorrow. i think nowadays, it's very hard to find a strong group of friends like that. maybe it's just me and i'm one of those people with more friends of the opposite sex. but i really wish i had a group of gals that were that close knit.
